Selling Domains
Why sell domains on our marketplace?
Our innovative marketplace solves many of the challenges faced by traditional aftermarket domain platforms:
Low Fees: We charge a low fee (just 2.5%). This leaves more revenue for sellers, while also enabling buyers to purchase domains at lower prices. By using crypto payment rails there are no wire fees ($50-$100) and credit card fees (3%).
Blazing Fast Payouts: You don’t have to wait for your funds or deal with manual dispute resolution processes. Once the buyer accepts the transfer, you are paid instantly via smart contracts.
No fraud and Secure: By using cryptographic proofs, we ensure that only legitimate domains are listed, increasing buyer confidence and reducing the risk of fraud. Thus, ensuring more opportunities for you to sell your domains.
Global: Any buyer with an internet connection is now a potential customer. Buyers do not need a bank account or credit card to start buying domains from you.
Private: Only verify the domains you want to list, and keep domains you do not want others to know private (even from us!). This is enabled using cryptography

How to sell domains on our marketplace?
Now that you understand the benefits of listing your domains on our marketplace, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it. We’ve made the process simple and secure by providing you with all the necessary tools and clear instructions. IMPORTANT: we recommend you set your Namecheap account email to a Gmail provider. The email will be important for finalizing your sale. Your email will not be visible to anyone including the buyer
Step 1: The Browser Extension
As a seller, you can list the domains you own on our marketplace by using our browser extension Peer. This extension securely interacts with Namecheap to verify domains ownership and guide you through the entire listing process. Our extension is verified by Google and you can install the ZKP2P Browser Extension - Peer from the Chrome/Brave web store.

Step 2: Verify Your Domains on Namecheap
Our current domain marketplace only support Namecheap as the registrar, so you will need to first transfer the domains you want to sell from your registrar to Namecheap if they are not already there. The transfer to Namecheap is free.
Once you have domains you want to list, the first step is verifying that you own it. This step ensures that only genuine domains are listed on our marketplace, protecting buyers from fraudulent listings—an issue that plagues many other secondary marketplaces.
Go to "My Listings" on domains.zkp2p.xyz
Create "Create Listings" and then click "Verify Domains" to verify your domains on Namecheap
Click on "Open Sidebar" to open the browser sidebar
Click on "Go to Namecheap" and after logging in, the extension should automatically detect which domains you own in the "Verify Domains" table
Select the domains you want to verify and click on "Notarize"
Once the proofs are generated go back to domains.zkp2p.xyz, select your domains and verify them
Step 3: Listing the Domain On-Chain
Once your domain ownership is verified, you can proceed to list it on our marketplace.
Go to "My Listings" on domains.zkp2p.xyz
The listing page will display the already verified domains
Select the domain you want to list and enter the asking price in ETH
Click "Create Listing" to sign the transaction and complete the listing
Once you have listed the domains onchain. Now you will have to wait for a buyer to come and place an bid on your domain. Once they do place a bid, you can see them on your My Listings page under the "Pending Sales" section
Step 4: Transfer to the Buyer
When a buyer places a bid for your domain, you can decide to accept it by transferring the domain to the buyer.
Buyers have the option to enable Instant Accept, meaning that upon you initiating transfer, they will accept the domain transfer automatically. Buyers who have enabled this feature will allow you to receive your sale proceeds much faster and are safer compared to manual acceptance flow. We indicate which buyers have this enabled in the marketplace and suggest you chose buyers that have enabled instant accpet.
Select the domain you want to fulfill the order for and copy their Namecheap ID.
Go to Namecheap and click Manage > Sharing & Transfer for the domain you are selling. Enter the Namecheap ID in the Change Ownership section.
Click on "Change" to send the domain to the buyer. For buyers who have enabled Instant Accept, they will have received the domain automatically, so you can proceed to the next step of finalizing the sale. If they do not have Instant Accept, then you will have to wait for buyer to accept the domain transfer before claiming your proceeds.
Step 5: Finalize the Transfer and Get Paid
After the buyer receives the domain whether through Instant Accept or the traditional way, you’ll receive a notification email from Namecheap. Now you can submit this email to the app to finalize this sale.
As a seller, accepting Instant Accept bids allow you to receive your proceeds near instaneously compared to another cycle of the buyer accepting your transfer. Instant Accept is buyer opt in, so there is a possibility the buyer has signalled they have initiated Instant Accept but has not configured their Namecheap account. In these cases, feel free to cancel your transfer.
On the "My Listings" page, select the bid for which you want to finalize the Transfer.
If you are using Gmail, we have conveniently built in OAuth so you can log into your Gmail to start generating a proof of transfer. Important to note our OAuth flow is entirely local meaning none of your data is sent to us or anywhere else. If you prefer to manually upload, follow these steps:
Select the email confirming the domain you have sent. Proof generation should take <30s
Return to domains.zkp2p.xyz and submit the proof of transfer to the chain. If the proof is valid, then it's verified onchain and the funds locked by the buyer will be released to you immediately via the smart contract to your wallet.
